    Only work on a Secured Site “https//…” and close your browser when you are done. This will ensure cached copies of your Online Banking Web pages are cleared.

 

 Late Fees are a ‘Thing of the Past’ with Bill Pay

 

$0 Liability:
 

Ø Funds Protection. Featured Online Banking services guarantee that you will be covered 100% for any funds removed from your accounts without your approval while using either Online Banking or Bill Pay services. This includes funds removed as a result of online theft of your account numbers or passwords. The Bank will reimburse you for funds transferred from your accounts up to the amount of your loss when you notify the Bank within 60 days of the transaction first appearing on your statement. If you do not notify within these 60 days, you may not be reimbursed for subsequent transactions. Additionally, they will reverse or reimburse you for any bank or payee fees resulting from your loss.

 Ø Payment Guarantee.  If you have the funds in your bank and give the Bank the required time to process the payment, the featured Banks guarantee your payment to be made on time and in the directed amount. If they fail to process a payment in accordance with your instructions they will reimburse you 100% of late-payment-related charges you may be assessed. They are also liable to you if they fail to stop a payment on your order to do so.

Ø Quicker Payments. While not part of the Guarantee, it is important to point out that Bill Pay services have improved their processing time considerably in the last year. Nearly every payment associated with an account number has been developed for electronic payment. Coupled with improved Bill Pay software industry wide, this has dropped the processing time from as long as a week to usually only 2 business days.

 Secure Transactions:

Ø   Online Encryption. From the moment account information leaves your computer to the time it enters the Bank’s system, all online access and Bill Pay sessions are encrypted. Banks (especially) employ some of the strongest forms of encryption commercially available, such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL), for use on the Web today. During any transaction, 128-bit encryption turns your information into a coded sequence with billions of possible variations, making it nearly impossible for unwanted intruders to decipher. The Banks’ computers possess the proper formulas to turn this code back into meaningful information and complete your transaction.

Ø   Password Protection. When you sign up for online access, the Bank asks you to create your own password, along with a Login ID, to access your accounts. This information is encrypted during transmission and will remain a secret as long as you do not disclose it. It is strongly recommend that you do not use your Social Security number or other easily identifiable names and numbers as a Login ID or password.

Ø  Web Page Protection. When logged into a Bill Pay session your privacy is additionally protected through a timed log-off feature. The Bank’s system will automatically log you off from their web site after 10 minutes of inactivity. This reduces the risk of others accessing your information from your unattended computer.  

Ø  Banking Technology. The featured Banks stress their constant Firewall and Technology updates in order to provide 24 hours a day protection against unauthorized entry and to confront constantly evolving online threats to your account security. In order to gain access, the Web browser you are using must know the proper protocol, or language, and even then only select information is available.  

Ø  Privacy Protection. All featured Banks also state policies to protect your privacy by guaranteeing that your personal information is never shared with any outside agency marketers wishing to offer you their products and services.
